Generations of inbreeding have left Tkltchk a deformed, grotesque creature. His skin is pale, almost transluscent, and he squints myopically in the light of the Shartak sun. A twisted spine and hunched back cause him to walk with a lurching gait, at times using his arms to pull himself along, ape-like. A crude wooden club drags in the earth behind him, discoloured by old blood and clumps of matted hair, and a rusty, much-used machete hangs from a thong at his waist. His right fist is enclosed in a gruesome-looking metal gauntlet, viciously spiked and with long, taloned fingers. Although appearing more animal than man, visible through his lank, filthy hair are eyes that gleam with a undeniably human cunning.
