Calypso

The Present

Tall, toned, and lithe, she has soft, sage green skin, pointed ears, and dreadlocks formed from long lengths of living seaweed. Island flowers with colored leaves, seashells gathered on the beach, and vines have been woven through them for decoration. Her eyes are the exact shade of the surrounding ocean, almond shaped and slightly slanted with silver pupils. When she is angered or embraces her power, they glow with silvery blue light. Ink made from a mixture of sea creatures and local vegetation creates the ancient symbol tattoos that cover her body. What little she wears to cover her is made from woven vines, sturdy, glossy banana tree leaves and wispy delicate ferns. More colored seashells have been worked into the jewelry that encircles her throat, wrists, and ankles.

The Past

Calypso is an exotic, mysterious creature with an extraordinary life that has spanned such a long time not even she can recall the exact length save that it has stretched eons. Her unusual appearance sets her apart from both natives and outsiders and are often met with fear that leads to unnecessary assumptions, myths, and false titles. Though she's inhabited the island of Shartak since its creation, predating the natives that now call it home. it is only recently she has allowed her presence to be known.

The Future

The full truth of her existence is known only to the one she travels with, The Shadow Man, as those responsible for her current physical form are long dead. Past bad experience with humans prevents her from making any attempt to get to know or reside among them and it is not an attitude that is likely to change any time soon. When not concealed deep within the jungle, she can be found on the shoreline, staring longingly out to sea. One day she intends to return to it.
