Primary Clan: None chosen
Generally appears as a pretty young girl, with ghost white skin and long golden hair. Her eyes are serpentine and she is a great jade snake from the waist down. Her smile is genuine, and friendly, and there is no trace of guile in her face.
At times she appears fully human, often dancing across the surface of the water, or living happily beneath it. At other times she becomes an animal, still other times she appears as a young girl with great, colorful parrot-wings sprouting from her back, like an angel.
An utter babe-in-the-woods, the naga has never experienced companionship, so she assumes everyone wants to be her friend.
*Except nastybad teddything.*
(Yeah. Except him.)
She is completely gullible and without shame. Generally, she is curious to the point of being annoying, happy, and sometimes excitable, though often overwhelmed and furtive. She knows nothing of even the most basic customs, often eating raw food with her bare hands, and detesting clothing - the pirate made her wear them but she fidgets with them constantly and sheds them entirely when alone.
The natives sometimes tell stories of a lost City of Treasures where the souls of the dead go to await transport to the afterlife. The city is half-forgotten, but according to most legends it was the home of the gods and befell some horrible tragedy that destroyed it in one night. Some say it lies beneath the ocean waves, others that it sits forgotten by a lost jungle lake, still others say it is deep underground.
But the city is no legend. And neither are the gods.
For untold aching years, the city has lain, perhaps under the sea, perhaps under the ground - its vast treasures undisturbed and unseen by any save one. One who was forgotten, the last of her kind, left alone from her birth. She wandered the fabled city alone for centuries, never knowing companionship, until recently an old pirate found his way there.
He was dying, worn out by years, and she took him in. This was a new thing to the naga. She had never seen another living being. She cared for him until his death, and he in turn told her stories of his life in the world beyond her walls. So many new sensations clouded the young naga's mind - grief, for losing her friend; curiosity and excitement over the new world he described to her; and worst of all, loneliness.
For untold centuries she had been alone, but never lonely. It was a feeling she simply could not bear. And so, the last naga left behind the City of Treasures, to seek out wealth of another kind. This is where our story begins...
